Acura Headlights Buying Guide - Acura Head Light Information

Your #1 Source for information on Acura Head Lights!

This buying guide is designed to answer your questions about the different types of Acura Headlights. If you have any further questions you would like answered freel free to give us a call.

1) Do Acura Headlights come in a pair? Yes, prices listed are always as a pair unless otherwise noted. Usually only original replacement parts are sold individually. All aftermarket headlights are sold in sets.

2) What are angel eyes? Angel eyes are the "halo rings" around the headlights. These always require custom wiring since they are not an option on Acuras as original equipment. Don't worry though, they are pretty easy to install. You just connect the two wires to the parking lights and BOOM! They look great and are on whenever your car is on. They definately add a more aggressive look to your Acura.

3) Will my headlights leak? They generally will not leak. However, be careful where you buy from. Some imported stuff doesn't always have the best seal. If your headlights leak it will result in the fogging of the lens every time they get wet. However, you can usually fix this if you buy some silicon gel and use it along the edge of the headlight where the molding meets the face. There are sometimes very small holes or leaks in the seal. So don't panic if you notice leaking or fogging. Its not a big deal and nothing you can't fix for about $5.

4) What are projector lights? Projection lights come with a special lens over each of the bulbs that focuses the light therefor providing better visibility. They also look very nice. Most newer cars have projector headlights, thus if you install projectors it can give your Acura a more updated look.

5) Do aftermarket lights come with Xenon lights? For Acuras they generally do not make after market headlights that comw with built in xenon ballasts. You can install an after market HID kit, but beware because they are technically banned by the DOT. Also you want to make sure your particular set of aftermarket headlights is compatible, because in some cases the HID kits get very hot and can melt the lens of your new headlights!

6) Are headlight upgrades as good of quality as my original? There isn't really much to headlights. They are basically just a lamp that is designed to fit the front of a car. What determines the difference between a good quality set and poor quality set is generally fit, style, and leaks. A good quality set will fit well and look more uniform than a poor quality set. If you are concerned with quality product, buy from a trusted source! make sure you confirm that the headlights will fit your particular trim level of Acura, and check to see if it will fit a 2 door or 4 door as well.

7) Do aftermarket headlights come with bulbs? Yes, almost always come with high and low beam bulbs. However, they do not always come with the turn signal bulb or the bulbs for the corner lights. Many times the retailers will not know if this is the case, so you will just have to buy some if your set didn't come with the turn signal bulbs.

8) Can I install HID Kits on my headlights? Make sure your set of new headlights does not have a sticker or note in the box saying not to install HID kits. Some Headlights may have the lenses melt off from the heat these bulbs produce. Also, be aware that the Department of Transportation has banned installation of aftermarket HID kits. So you may get ticketed if driving you cross a cop in a bad mood.

9) Do my headlights come with any type of warranty? The answer is no. Usually you havea warranty from the supplier of 30 days. However, once the return policy expires you are usually out of luck. This is because the headlights once installed and used through various weather conditions can never again be sold as new. Also, there is not really much that can go wrong with a plastic casing with a couple wires hanging out. For this reason, suppliers, retailers, and manufacturers generally do not offer any type of warranty.
